Things to Do
When visiting to view the private world of CLIFFTOPS take the opportunity to combine an overnight stay on Waiheke Island accompanied by a wine and food experience at one of our many vineyard restaurants. A number of activities are recommended for sharpening the appetite ready for the evening meal.
Some suggestions:
- Hire a car and explore the island. There are over 100 bays and empty beaches. Visit the world-class sculpture park at Connell's Bay. Explore the tunnels and gun emplacements at Stony Batter.
- Take a backpack of refreshments and follow one of the sign-posted Island Walkways that circle the coast and traverse vineyards, farmland and the native forests of the Regional Parks.
- For serious dawn and dusk fishing with a professional skipper, book a charter boat.
- Follow the guide to the Art Studios and Galleries of Waiheke and see the work of the island's painters, sculptors and artists in glass and ceramics.
- Book a table for lunch at one of the island vineyards, or take a picnic hamper and a book to the beach.
- Have a round of golf at the Waiheke Golf Club or a game of tennis. Go kayakking.
- Visit the shops and cafes in Oneroa Village
